"Welcome back!" Ben beamed at the camera.

"Thanks for tuning in! We're here with your dose of news, fun, and a look at some really interesting stats from Ironstone," Patrick added, gesturing towards a large screen displaying some numbers.

"That's right, Patrick! We've been looking at the numbers from the Ironstone 100K — you know, the one where folks push their limits for hours on end?" Ben explained. "And the participation has grown pretty consistent over the last three years."

"Indeed. In 2022, we saw 89 people register, with 62 of them actually making it to the starting line," Patrick elaborated. "And of those, 31 managed to cross the finish line, giving them a 50% finish rate."

"Not bad for such a grueling event!" Ben commented. "Then in 2023, 84 registered, with even more, 75, making it to the start. And we saw an uptick in finishers there, 42 in total, bumping the finish rate up to 55%."

"Which is always great to see!" Patrick chimed in. "Now, last year, 2024, saw the highest registration yet with 97 sign-ups. 83 towed the line, and 43 finishers made for a 51.8% finish rate."

"So, around half the people who start are finishing. But here's where it gets really interesting, Pat," Ben said, leaning forward slightly. "When we look at the times, this event is seriously tough. In three years, out of everyone who's participated, only six people — that's a tiny 2.7% — have finished the race in under 16 hours."

"Wow, that's incredible!" Patrick exclaimed, looking at the screen. "And for those who do finish, a significant portion, 30% of them, are crossing the finish line between 19 and 23 hours."

"That's right, with the largest group of runners finishing between 21 and 22 hours," Ben clarified. "And remember, 23 hours is the cut-off for this race, so these finishers are really pushing right up against that limit!"
