2023 RACE FACTS
  • Finish Rate. Of 75 participants, 42 finished which is a 56% finish rate.

  • Male Overall. Raymond Stoltzfus of Quarryville, PA (1st at 14 hours 14 minutes). He also beat the previous course record from inaugural year by 1 hour and 54 minutes! 4 individuals in 2023 beat last years record.

  • Female Overall. Mary Kowalski of Hollidaysburg won female overall for the second year in a row. She beat last years course record time by 20 minutes. 17 hours and 19 minutes.

  • Travel to the Race. Participant that traveled the farthest was from the Philippines. The closest participant lives 1.6 miles from the start and was also our female overall winner. (Maybe she knows the course secrets?)

  • Weather. It was hot and humid during the day with a high of 91F recorded at a weather station adjacent to AS4 Alfarata. 84F as the high recorded at Altoona-Blair County Airport about 20 miles away. Right after midnight, thunderstorms rolled through the area with 0.25 inches of rain reported in 2.5 hours at the Altoona-Blair County Airport. Scattered thunderstorms continued until 7am. The low temperature recorded was 65F.
